Finally! Caught up to my schedule. I spent much of the evening chatting with a couple from Vermont who were camping opposite me at Horsethief Lake campground, then with a couple of long distance bikers from Florida who rode up to the Black Hills in two days. The light show at Mount Rushmore was cancelled due to technical difficulties. No time to do the wildlife loop in Custer State Park today, but perhaps will ride the loop tomorrow. In any case, there were lots of buffalo/bison to be seen on 16A riding north to Mount Rushmore. Also, of particular note, were the three tunnels that were carved so that they run south to north such that the presidents' faces are perfectly framed.
