Horsethief Lake Campground to Greybull KOA in Wyoming
Day's distance: 684km
Total to date: 3,537km
Temperature range: Cool at about 11C when I left the campground but soon warmed up to 27-31 on I-90. Down to 7C at the top of the Bighorn Mountains.
II managed to leave the campground by 7:30am and headed for the Needles Highway, then back down 16A towards Mount Rushmore. I visited the memorial for about an hour before heading to I-90 via the Spearfish Canyon highway. I had intended to check out Devil's Tower but skipped iit due to time constraints. Just as well, as I arrived at the KOA in Greybull at about 9:30pm just before sunset. However, highway 14 through the Bighorn mountains was simply fantastic! I had heard that the road was quite twisty, but the scenery was simply awesome, especially coming down through the canyon towards Greybull.
